    Until society has more compassion for pedophiles who have never acted on their urges, they’re never gonna get help. Until they harm a child, they’re not monsters, they’re sick.

    In psychology it is often used to differentiate between pedophiliacs that engage in sexual activities with pre-adolescents, or actively seek out opportunities to do so (which would be a pedosexual) and pedophiliacs that feel the attraction/desire, but do not act on it(which would be a pedophiliac). This distinction is relevant seeing as how engaging in pedosexual activity is obviously criminal, furthermore, there are pedophilliacs who do not chase their desires due to hating how they feel and/or being ashamed of it. If those individuals get the proper support from mental healthcare professionals, they may never actually get to the point where they scar a child through sexual abuse.

    When used in this sense, however, pedosexuality is still very much regarded as a paraphilia(as well as being criminal) and not a sexual orientation.
